The Barraqueiro Group is one of the founding members of a new European passenger public transport association - European Passenger Transport Operators (EPTO) - which has just been constituted in London. Joining the ten largest European groups of the sector, the objectives of the EPTO consist in the support and promotion of the public transport market inside the European Union and the implementation of a competitive structure in the sector.

The EPTO also represents the interests of its members in regard to the European Union and other institutions, namely in relation to legislation, regulation and fiscal politics.

The EPTO will also have as its mission to gather and distribute relevant information and statistics about the market and sector, legislation and community politics.

The founding members of the EPTO are: Arriva, Barraqueiro, Connexxion, First Group, Go-Ahead, Keolis, National Express, Stagecoach, Transdev, Veolia - Transport.

The associates of the EPTO transport 9.1 thousand million passengers and have 10 thousand trains, 100.000 buses and 320.000 employees.
